七巧板
我成長於一個物質匱乏的年代，生活只限於滿足基本需要。我和姊妹以自己手做及所費無幾的玩意(如: 畫公仔衫)自娛，或以簡單玩具(如:七巧板)發揮想像空間。我對藝術的喜愛，大抵源於此。
我這組作品，取材自童年玩意 - 七巧板。人長大，離家獨立，越走越快，越行越遠。離家遠了，離自己更遠。透過製作七巧板，重逢自己，然後，到家了。
I grew up in an era when life was to satisfy basic needs, and material comfort was small. The toys I and my sisters played were either made by our own hands or costing very little (e.g. designing clothes for my paper dolls), or they were simple yet brought creativity into full play (e.g. Tangram). I guess my love for art was originated from such hobbies.
The idea of this series came from the tangram puzzle. I left home to see the world, fleeing to faraway places, flying far and high, gradually I forgot home and where I came from. Through making the tangram puzzles, I reconnected with myself, and finally, I am home.
1. 七巧板之一 : 生命七巧板
經過不斷的探索、跌撞、拼湊，方察覺生命七巧板的拼合，始自兒時。我感謝兒歌讓我愛上韻律和文字；字母檫紙膠教我追尋學問；飛行棋給我以目標；跳飛機令我學會飛翔；畫公仔衫使我戀上顏色和形狀；蠶寶寶讓我領會生命的蛻變；風雨花叫我接納生命中的風雨。
Tangram No. 1: Life tangram puzzle
Through continuous explorations, stumbles and falls, and piecing together odds and ends, I came to realize the tangram puzzle of my life was originated from my childhood. I thank the nursery rhymes which made me fall in love with rhythm and words; the alphabetic rubbers encouraged me to pursuit knowledge; the flying chess helped me set goals; the hopscotch taught me to fly; the paper dolls made me crave for colors and forms; the silkworms showed me the transformation of life; and the rain lilies told me to accept the wind and rain in life.

2. 七巧板之二 : 同一屋簷下
爸爸年輕時，希望經營的街坊小生意，能養活一家人。前舖後居，孩子和小木屐，在木樓梯級中翻滾、碰撞，掉過多少顆牙。現在，再走過從前街道，我已認不出它原來的位置。孩子各散東西，走自己的路。過年過節相聚，我總會想起:媽媽年輕時的心願是起一棟唐樓，七個孩子，各佔一層，好讓大夥兒，住在同一屋簷下……。
Tangram No. 2: Under the same roof
Father’s young wish was to run his small business to support the whole family. We lived upstairs, above the shop, and the children grew up twice the speed they came rolling down the stairs. Now when I went back where the old shop used to stand, I could no longer recognize the place. The children got married and embarked on their own path. During festive gatherings, I often recall: mom’s young wish was to build a big house to accommodate her seven children, so that we can all live under the same roof.

3. 七巧板之三 : 在路上
小五在屏山寄宿時愛爬樹。那樹就是我當時的躲藏地、孤獨時給我以安慰的家。數十年過去，學校變成了屋村，來時路隱沒記憶的皺摺中。生命從沒有答應過你平坦的風景，總有縫補、摺痕，和無從逆轉的剪割；只要記著曾經有過的平滑和溫柔，就順其自然吧。在路上，修行甚或轉化，或兩者都沒有；假如能碰見給我以寧靜的樹，容我跟它說聲好，溫柔地。
Tangram No.3: On the way
I loved to climb up a big tree during my primary school days in the country. That tree was my hiding place, a home which gave me comfort when I felt lonely. The primary school now turned into a housing estate, and the road leading to that place vanished in the wrinkles of my memories. Life never promised you peaceful sceneries; there are always patches and folds, the irreversible cuts; just remember smooth and tender moments existed, and follow the path of nature. On the way, to cultivate oneself or to transform, or neither; and if I encounter a tree that gives me peace, allow me to say “hello” to it, gently.

4. 七巧板之四 : 到家了
每次接納萬物的轉移，就在成長路上做了功課。讓我回歸寧靜的心家，與原生的自己重逢。
Tangram No.4: Home at last
Every time I learn to accept the changing nature of things, I have done my homework on the life journey. Let me return to the peaceful home of my heart, and reunion with the natural born me.
